The case for FreeBSD

On Friday, I was having a discussion with FreeBSD hacker and security expert George V. Neville on the low penetration of BSD generally. Especially in India where its tough to explain technology to people. For instance, most of the people that I have interacted with at various FLOSS meetings consider Linux to be a product.

One of the problems was the lack of a PR department at *BSD which basically goes around tom-toming BSD. Things seems to be changing now though. This mail from Scott Long (The FreeBSD Release Manager) seems to be setting the path for our much desired fame in the technology world and also in the minds of the average Linux user.
