PHP Insists – "File Does Not Exist"

Talk about having a horrible start to productivity right on the new year. I just spent the entire afternoon upping my FreeBSD box to Apache2+PHP 4.2.3. The first thing that broke was my scripts which did a “file_exists” call. The stupid thing refused to see the file which is right under its nose. Full paths would work, but relative paths broke. It would also work from the command line and also on RedHat 8.0

Finally asked about this and he politely pointed me to A search for “Apache2” lists sooo many bugs. Its scary! /me still wonders why RedHat chose to go with Apache2.

The day isn't over yet, perhaps some good will still come off it.

Happy new year folks!
