Buffalo WHR-G300N + DD-WRT

Something sure isn’t working right.

After replacing the old Buffalo WHR-G54S with the 80211n WHR-G300N capable router am seeing my wireless go south. The LAN ports seems to working without issues

  • Packet drops to the router over the wireless link. Happens every time I start copying files to my NAS
  • PPPoE issues (Jan 1 00:08:09 pppd[2254]: Couldn’t load plugin /usr/lib/rp-pppoe.so). Rebooting seems to fix this issue
  • Maybe it has something to do with DD-WRT v24 preSP2 (Build13064) firmware. I never did try the vendor firmware, should have done that first before flashing to DD-WRT. Time to downgrade to v24 SP1 (Build10020) if it fixes the issues.

It would be disappointing if I had to go back to 80211g :-\
