Now I have two Airtel DSL connections at home, One is 2Mbps (limited) and the other is a 512Kbps (unlimited). /me needs a low power small form factor embedded router that can do policy based forwarding. The plan is to move all torrent traffic to the unlimited link while keeping the VPN and SSH over the fat link.

Looking For a Web Based Photo Album Tool…
Need to clean out my hardisk and move all the pics that people have sent me to something more webby. I do have a flickr pro account (courtesy my employer) but I need something which I can extend control over. It would also be nice if the web app would play nicely with iPhoto.
Checking out coppermine now since it seem to have an iPhoto plugin.

UPDATE (08/30): Coppermine is up at http://shankerbalan.net/coppermine/ with a few albums I had lying around. And iPhoto is such a cool tool, made my last few hours a whole lotta fun sorting the pics.
PlayStation 3 Time?
Looking around, seems that the PS3 is the cheapest way to get started on the Blu-Ray format. I'l be convinced to get the console if it can also do Matroska formats.

UPDATE (08/29): The AVS Forum NEW AVS PS3 FAQ Thread has a lot of needed info on the PS3. As of now, looks like the PS3 is a bad choice if most your HD media is on the Matroska (.mkv) format.
UPDATE (09/20): Bit the bullet. I am now a proud owner of a 110v 80GB PS3. Per many a forum, there is no such thing as a 110v only PS3, all of them come default with a universal power supply. Will know if its true or not soon.
KDE4.1 Installed
KDE4.1 took a couple of days to compile and install. First impression is that its quick and slick. Way way better than GNOME. Still not as slick as E but close.
HT: Moving To the Living Room
The better part of the Sunday was spent on moving the home theatre into the living room. The bedroom was getting too crowded for comfort. Total weight lugged: 100kg. This should make up for missing gym for the whole week.
1x Denon 3808: 17.8kg
2x Monitor Audio RS8: 21kg (each)
1x Monitor Audio RSLCR: 8kg
1x REL Strata: 23KG
2x Bose 301: 6kg (each)
The end result is that the sound sounds soo much better in a bigger room thats filled with furniture. I just found a new “sweet” spot to WFH
The 32″ Sony LCD panel will be moved out once the Tata Sky guys come over to rewire the DTH cable. Also, I can now wall mount the panel since there is so much space in the living room.
